Oppo Reno11 Pro Review: Buy It For The Design And Display
The Oppo Reno11 Pro is your mid-range smartphone with above-average performance and display. Unfortunately, the cameras aren't the best thing about this smartphone, but Oppo's tagline "portrait expert" is still accurate.
Oppo Reno11 Pro is the latest mid-range model from Oppo. Launched at a price of Rs 39,999, the smartphone has a lot to offer but at the same time there is nothing to excite an enthusiast like me. We get a very similar package to last year's Oppo Reno10 Pro, with incremental improvements.

But do these incremental improvements make the Oppo Reno11 Pro a worthy smartphone in the highly competitive Rs 40,000 segment? In this review, I look at the smartphone's design, display, performance, software, battery and camera to find out whether the new Oppo Reno11 Pro is worth investing in. Let's go:
Oppo Reno11 Pro review. design
Design is something Oppo has always been at the forefront of. Most of the company's smartphones are beautiful devices and this trend hasn't gone away with the latest mid-range series. In fact, this year Oppo has taken a step forward in terms of design and brought us another aspect with new details.

So with the Reno11 Pro we are bringing back the frosted glass, but also getting new details. As such, Oppo claims to have used a 3D etching process to “create millions of micro-level reflective surfaces on the back glass.” This basically means that there is a nice pattern on the back that also has some depth, giving it a 3D look. These little shapes on the back appear deeper when you light the phone from different angles. You can see it well.

On the back we also have the oval camera module, similar to the Oppo Reno10 Pro. This time, Oppo has opted for a more subtle camera module in solid silver, which houses a triple rear camera. On the front, the smartphone has a curved display with punch-holes, so nothing special happens on the front. We have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front screen, so that's good. Although we're still in the design phase, there's no official IP rating, but after witnessing Oppo's rigorous waterproof testing first hand, I'm confident that a little water and sand won't harm the Reno11 Pro.

Overall, in true Oppo style, we get an attractive design that is very high quality. There are some asymmetrical things on the smartphone, such as the camera module that many people have told me about (which I personally like), or maybe the lack of an aluminum frame, but these are not just details. Overall, I like the look of this smartphone.
Review of the Oppo Reno11 Pro. Screen
The Oppo Reno11 Pro also has a very good screen. Once again, the smartphone exceeded my expectations with super-accurate colors, fluid responsiveness and sufficient brightness. I tested this display quite thoroughly and found that it works quite well. From color accuracy to brightness, the Oppo Reno11 Pro's display is very good in all areas. Here we have a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution.

Given the 120Hz refresh rate, this display is very responsive and smooth. Scrolling through menus and apps is a real pleasure with the 120Hz refresh rate. It can also be set to “Dynamic,” where the refresh rate adjusts depending on what’s on the screen. The display is also pretty sharp and clear and is HDR10+ certified, so all your videos and web series on Netflix and YouTube will play in true HDR if the content supports it.

The Oppo Reno11 Pro also scores points when it comes to color accuracy. In my Color Checker analysis, the smartphone showed a marginal error with an average DeltaE of just 0.8. It is very accurate, meaning the colors you see on the Oppo Reno11 Pro's screen are very close to what you see in real life. To illustrate, a DeltaE of less than 3 is considered accurate for smartphone screens.

The Oppo Reno11 Pro even performed well in the grayscale test. The smartphone follows gamma 2.2 and has a good RGB balance. Reds are slightly higher than greens and blues on this screen, but this difference is marginal and results in a more saturated or contrasty image, which is what most people prefer.

So when it comes to display performance, the Oppo Reno11 Pro is excellent. It has a very fluid, accurate, bright and elegant display that ticks all the boxes and blows away in further tests.
Oppo Reno 11 Pro test: performance and battery
In terms of performance, we see a pretty decent jump compared to last year's Oppo Reno10 Pro. The Oppo Reno11 Pro comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset and up to 12GB of RAM. Now these are similar to the specs of last year's iQOO Neo 7, which looked pretty good in my testing last year. The Oppo Reno 11 Pro also performs quite well in this area.

On AnTuTu, the Oppo Reno 11 Pro scored 9,35,051 points, which is a huge increase over last year's Oppo Reno 11, and although the smartphone uses last year's high-end MediaTek chip, it is on par with today's. . Middle class competitors. The smartphone also performed well in Geekbench. On the Geekbench 6 benchmark, I achieved a single-core score of 1,065 and a multi-core score of 3,389. OK.
Even in GPU-based tests, performance is average and on par with the competition. The smartphone is clearly not the most powerful of all, but it is clearly superior to competitors like the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ or the Vivo V29 Pro.
While we're talking about performance, it's also important to mention the software. Oppo Reno11 Pro runs on Oppo's latest ColorOS 14, which includes many new features for users to enjoy. For example, the Smart Touch feature that allows you to drag and drop items you want to save as notes. There's also the Trinity Engine, which optimizes your smartphone's peripherals based on usage.
Although ColorOS 14 is not free from bloatware and there are still some issues like ads, high permission count, etc., I like the fact that Oppo has provided features that help users be more productive and productive. . .

The battery on the Oppo Reno11 Pro is also good. The smartphone has a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. Now the battery backup is very good. In our video loop test, where I streamed 4K videos on the smartphone until it shut down, the Oppo Reno11 Pro lasted over 12 hours, which is excellent value for any smartphone in any segment. The smartphone also used less battery when playing games or navigating with GPS, but it wasn't the best we've seen in the segment.

The 80W fast charging is also super fast. With the included charger, the Oppo Reno11 Pro managed to go from 0 to 100% in just 31 minutes. That sounds great, and it's basically an indication that if you plug your smartphone in for a few minutes, you'll have enough power to last you all day when the battery is low.
Review of the Oppo Reno11 Pro. camera
As for the camera, Oppo has talked in detail about what the smartphone can do here. We have a 50 megapixel main camera, a 32 megapixel telephoto lens and another 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens. Now the camera performance with this hardware is not the best to say the least.

However, in ideal lighting conditions, you can take great photos with the main shooter and 3x optical zoom. The built-in 5x zoom also works very well in ideal conditions and bright light. The wide-angle shooter is also good enough on its own, but compared to the main shooter, the results are inconsistent even in ideal lighting and the color shift between the main and wide-angle shooters is very noticeable.

However, the camera is not particularly good in poor lighting conditions. In the main shooting video, I noticed a lot of flashes of light when I clicked on stages that had light pieces in them. Wide-angle shots aren't particularly good either and the results are mostly blurry and unclear, unless of course you reduce the exposure on the Oppo Reno11 Pro. Then in the 5X images I also found a lot of watercolor effects that make up the images. seems artificial.

However, the Oppo Reno11 Pro's portraits are pretty good. Portraits look amazing in all lighting conditions. The edge detection is good, the background blur is good and the Oppo Reno11 Pro also captures skin tones quite well. The only problem here is that there is anti-aliasing, but it is minor.

Overall, it's a good camera, but the way Oppo markets it as one of the best cameras in this segment is far from its actual performance. To be honest, I liked the camera performance of last year's Oppo Reno10 Pro better. Yes, the software experience is better, but there are no major improvements in terms of hardware and performance.
Review of the Oppo Reno11 Pro. Verdict
The Oppo Reno11 Pro is a mid-range smartphone with above-average performance and display. The cameras unfortunately aren't the best thing about this smartphone, but Oppo's tagline "portrait expert" isn't far off as the Reno11 Pro takes excellent portraits.

In my opinion, the best thing about the smartphone is the design and the screen. Product-wise, the smartphone also performs well and there are software improvements, but the experience hasn't changed significantly with ColorOS 14. Priced at Rs 39,999 and above, the Oppo Reno11 Pro seems overpriced.
