The OnePlus Open Could Be A Rebranded Oppo Find N3
A new rumor suggests that the China-only Oppo Find N3 will launch in the US as OnePlus Open.
Also called the OnePlus V Fold in other reports, OnePlus' first foldable phone will come in black or green.
As for tips, it will have the same form as the Oppo Find N2.
It's no secret that OnePlus will be the next big Android brand to release a foldable phone, but new rumors claim that the OnePlus Open (or OnePlus V Fold) will be Oppo's only foldable phone.
According to leaker Max Jambor, OnePlus' first foldable smartphone will launch in China with a new name, the Oppo Find N3. This means that unlike the China-exclusive Oppo Find N2, Oppo's next foldable book-like device may finally be released in the US, albeit under a different brand name.
The suggestion added that the OnePlus Open will have the same form factor as the Oppo Find N2. Oppo is already very popular in North America, so it wouldn't be surprising if Oppo released a similar form factor phone under the OnePlus brand.
Earlier leaks suggest that the OnePlus Open will take place on August 29, a month after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. This is similar to what OnePlus announced earlier this year. A OnePlus-branded foldable device in the second half of 2023.
Rumors of a foldable OnePlus are nothing new. The OnePlus Open has an 8-inch QHD+ 120Hz internal display paired with a 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz external display. Cameras may include a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP periscope lens.
Some of these rumors have been confirmed by Jambor, which claims that the phone will have a periscope lens. It is also available in black and green colors.
Since OnePlus has a reputation for producing affordable flagships, with the OnePlus 10 Pro and 10T being able to offer prices below $900, we finally have a chance to see affordable flexible devices.
However, foldable phones will remain expensive until they become more common.
