These Motorola Phones Are Getting Android 14, But We Still Have One Big Question
Motorola has announced which phones will be updated to Android 14.
Razr Plus is included in the list, as are several 2022 models, although mid-range phones are limited to 2023 models.
The company has not yet announced when it plans to roll out the Android 14 update to its phones.
Motorola had an impressive 2023, launching some interesting phones like the Edge Plus (2023) and the Razer Plus, which delivered major software updates, three operating system updates, and four annual updates. However, if the company is not yet very communicative and up to date when it comes to releases for major operating systems, Motorola is not holding out much hope for the upcoming Android 14 update.
The company has quietly revealed which devices will receive the Android 14 update (via YTECHB). Motorola doesn't appear to have released any details yet, but the company has stated on its support page that some phones should receive Android 14 "subject to partner approval."

Of course, these are mostly 2023 models, with a few exceptions for high-end devices in the Razr and Edge families.
While it's nice to know that the phone will receive an update at some point in the future, Motorola hasn't said when to expect this update. Other companies from Samsung to Sony are rolling out Android 14 to their devices starting in late 2023, but Motorola remains silent on the matter.
However, the company seems to have taken a calm approach to the matter: the Moto g53 is reportedly already receiving the 5G update and the g54 is in beta testing. Hopefully that means an Android 14 update is on the way, but don't be afraid to wait for anything.
The Motorola Razr Plus now receives updates about every two months, which is a good sign that the company is at least doing something . As the fastest growing Android brand in 2023, we expect Motorola to launch with big updates.
