Since its launch, the Redmi Note series has represented good value for money. But something has changed with the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. While the base variant is priced under INR 20,000, the top model starts at INR 31,999 and is the first model in the range. The company positions it as a high-end Ranger with premium design and good performance. But is it worth it? I've been using it for a week and here's everything you need to know about the new Redmi Note.
Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: design and display
The design and feel of the Fusion Purple color variant on the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus continues to be Redmi Note's favorite. Because the back is made of vegan leather in four colors. This gives the phone a pleasant look, stylish and sophisticated. I like this best of the three color options and I would recommend choosing the Fusion Black or Fusion White glass back option.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. HDR content can be upscaled to 1800 nits at maximum brightness for greater clarity and a sense of depth. In daily use, it is clearly visible outdoors and also in bright sunlight, something I haven't experienced in the Delhi winters for a long time. But for the media, it was loud and intense.
The screen is clearer thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. I once (accidentally) dropped my cell phone from a height of four meters, but it was not damaged. Unlike the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, this new cellphone comes with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Setup is quick and easy and works well.
Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset. I haven't pushed it to its limits, but with daily use, it runs smoothly. I didn't notice any stuttering when interacting with the interface or switching apps, which is what I do all day. It has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The device has a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, which came in handy when I was late for a meeting and my phone ran out of battery. For reference, it can be charged from 10% to 100% in 20 minutes.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus runs Android 13-based MIUI 14 and is confirmed to be updated to Xiaomi's new HyperOS "soon". Xiaomi promises three software updates and four years of security updates for the new Note. However, the HyperOS update will be one of them, so it is expected to be supported up to Android 16.
Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: camera
The new Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 200MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor.
Photos taken during the day are very detailed and have good dynamic range. I also like the 4x zoom sensor, but I prefer the dedicated telephoto lens because it doesn't allow me to zoom in portrait mode. However, the zoom quality is good at 2x and 4x. However, there are problems in daylight and the other two cameras are average. Xiaomi says the phone will soon receive an update for a better camera setup.
Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: Price, Availability and Offers
