New Techno Music Event To Take Place
The team behind Kiss My Kick Drums, Croaktek and Happy Daze are bringing a new event to Bristol this month.
Held at the Clock Factory on May 19, Foundation Techno is an evening dedicated exclusively to techno music that aims to bring together the biggest names in the industry.
Dave Slinks, founder of Foundation Techno, told Bristol24/7: "The name is about people taking basic courses, what we call education.

“Noise is not just about sound, but everything that affects sound. Our little motto is technology education, so we will have different styles, but it will not be a common thing that people know about.”
The group believes that there is nothing like it in the city, which is why the sound of techno is at the forefront of this new phenomenon.
"I wouldn't call it another night of pure techno," Dave said. "Now there's another genre in the underground techno scene that people don't really know about, and especially in Bristol, it's focused on jungle and DNB, so people don't even realize there's another scene."
"We're trying to make new sounds and find clean technology, which I think is very rare. I think it's really important to us, especially those of us who are known for our techno sound, to have techno."
The event aims to bring together headliners, Bristol's underground techno community, high quality sound, production, lighting and live visuals in one place.
The event was hosted by Juliet Fox (Drum Code) and Alex Stein (Filth on acid), as well as Bristol's leading trance music producer and DJ Mandydextrous (Ram Records), who calls herself techno Boxzy.
It was important to the group to make the evening as safe and inclusive as possible, not only for the public, but also for the guest artists.
"We don't call it an LGBT event, but it's important to us that it's inclusive," Dave said.
“Mandy and the other artists we have, friends who may not be fully trans but enjoy dressing up when they play, I don't want them to not be able to be themselves when they play. There is no room for prejudice or abuse.
The group hopes to hold the event on a semi-regular basis and take over one of Boomtown's stages in the summer of 2023.
