As 2024 begins, the Indian smartphone market is gearing up for a massive influx of 5G-enabled smartphones. This month, you should check out the Samsung Galaxy S24, OnePlus 12 and Vivo X100 Pro series. All of them will be equipped with modern hardware, the latest software and some artificial intelligence capabilities. In the mid-range category, we will see the emergence of Redmi Note 13 Pro+, POCO X6 Pro and Honor X9B.
Vivo X100 Pro: Launch scheduled for January 4th.
The Vivo X100 Pro will launch on January 4 along with the standard X100 model. The devices are already available in the global market and we expect the Indian X100 Pro to retain similar specifications. In terms of specifications, it will use the Dimensity 9300 in a 16GB/512GB configuration. Additionally, it will run Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. The phone will feature a 50MP triple rear camera setup with a massive 1-inch Sony IMX989 primary sensor.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+: debuts on January 4. Another
upcoming launch is the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, which has a launch date that coincides with the Vivo X100 Pro launch date. The model destined for India will retain all the features of its Chinese counterpart, equipped with the Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC. Other features include a 120Hz curved AMOLED display, a 200MP primary camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. However, out of the box it will run MIUI 14 OS based on Android 13 and not the latest Android 14.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Launch on January 17th
. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to go on sale on January 17 in the Indian and global markets. Except S24 and S24+. This time Samsung is offering an Ultra model with a titanium frame and a flat screen. In the camera department, a new 50-megapixel (5x) telephoto lens is expected. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC coupled with One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 and a host of advanced AI features.
OnePlus 12: Available January 23rd.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to launch on January 23rd alongside the more affordable OnePlus 12R. In terms of features, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which can be paired with up to 24GB/1TB configuration. While it looks promising, its price will determine how it competes with rivals like the Google Pixel 8 Pro and others in the Indian and global markets.

Apart from the previously discussed models, several more devices are expected to launch in India this month. The list includes the Honor X9B with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and a massive 5800mAh battery. POCO X6 Pro is also likely to launch in India in January. It is expected to be an upgraded version of the Chinese Redmi K70E phone powered by the Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC.
