Froghat Fills An Amphibianshaped Hole In The Surfrock Firmament
Chicago artist Nicholas Clark first appeared on Hammett Wolf's Radar in 2011. Fight with a noisy old neighbor. Clarke has been making his own weird records, and this coyote is a total hit with his solo project, Frohat, which he says plays a "rock and roller blade." It's easy to love Fohat Clarke's critical recreation of the perfect logo and amphibious motorcycle helmet, but the charm fades quickly if the tone is wrong. Fortunately, Hammy's banter alongside Dick Dale - with nicknames like "Squid Pro Quo" and "The Long and Winding Toad" - is tempting for his tough talk. He even brought back a quick cover of "Sultans of Swing" for Dyer Strait, renamed "Sultan of the Surf". Clark released his new album, Meet the Frog, in June. And the new single Frogat played his hits , and it seemed destined to fill an amphibian-shaped hole in the playlists of rock fans everywhere.
Froggatt recorded most, if not all, of this material at a place called "Electric City Land".
Earlier this month, Chicago tech industry writer Dalibor Cruz released a limited edition CD-R of Covered Asperity via Greek Underground's Live Adult Entertainment. If you love ambient dance music that's equal parts chilling and uplifting, this is for you. Global music store Boomcat has sold out of the Covered Asperity , but these coyotes are hoping that Signal Records will release some copies when Dalibor Cruz plays for free in stores on Saturday, July 1st. The hunting stage will be opened and the show will start at 2 o'clock.

In the year Since its formation in 2021, the Chicago hip-hop collective MP3dotcom released the single "Egosomeshit" last year. But surprisingly, these wolves can't wait to see the team in person. On Friday, June 30, they will light up the Catacombs of the Epiphany Performing Arts Center. Coffeefish and Linda Soul are open and tickets are $15 ($12 in advance).
MP3dotcom has only released one of the songs yet: "Egosomeshit" due out in 2022.
