[ Ed. Note: This post contains mono spoilers from Spider-Man: The Spider-Verse .]
Miguel O'Hara/Spiderman 2099
First appearance: Spider-Man 2099 (vol.1) #1
What are you doing? : Miguel O'Hara lives in the distant future of 2099 Marvel, a world dominated by corporations that control widespread and dangerous innovations in genetic engineering and virtual reality. A researcher working for the famous and powerful Alchemex corporation eventually finds himself the victim of his own experimental spider-themed research, which gives him terrifying spider-derived powers and ultimately the identity of a costumed hero. . Unlike classic Spider-Man, Miguel is taciturn and grumpy in his superhero alter ego and quite funny in real life.
Energy Bill Responsibility: Uncle Ben is 4 out of 10.
Jess Drew / Spider Woman
First Look: Marvel Spotlight #32 (sort of)
What's the Deal?: Jess Drew in the Spider-Verse is an original creation, but she owes her name (and overall look) to Jessica Drew's comic book predecessor, the original Spider-Woman. Created in 1976 to prevent animation studios from buying the Spider-Woman brand, the Jessica comics actually have nothing to do with Peter Parker or Miles Morales, but instead derive her powers from a confusing and mysterious origin which is connected to HYDRA. , whose father is a geneticist and possibly a talking cow. So the Spider-Verse 's Jess is a total reimagining of the concept - although there is a notable book in Jess's comics that deals with superheroes during pregnancy - this thanks to her older counterpart.
Power Responsibility Report: No Uncle Ben here. Only the cow can talk to Bova.
Punk spider
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man (vol.3) #10
What is the problem? : Sometimes a bad idea becomes brilliant. The same goes for Earth-138's version of Hobi Brown (best known to us on Earth-616 as Spider-Man's old ally - yes, ally! - the Prowler). The hobby turned into punk rock and trash Spider-Punk with a spider bite. Interestingly, this Spider-Man was the subject of a minor dispute between the creators, with artist Olivier Coipel intending to make him a British punk of the Sex Pistols genre, but writer Dan Slott rejecting that decision . New Yorkers. After all, this Hobi won the love of his fans by siding with the people against corporate oppressors, leading the oppressed masses against the establishment, and banging his guitar on the heads of American presidents.
Power Responsibility Score: 10 out of 10 Uncle Ben. The biggest responsibility is the transition.
Pavitr Prabhakar
First Appearance: Indian Spider-Man #1
What are you doing? : The 2004 Spider-Man: India series was an unlikely collaboration between Marvel Comics and its Indian licensee Gotham Entertainment, which led Indian creators to reimagine Spider-Man within their own cultural context. Thus was born Pavitr Prabhakar, a small-town Indian boy transplanted to the cosmopolitan city of Mumbai and given to spiders by a former yogi. After allowing his selfishness to cost him his uncle Bhim's life, he dedicated himself to the cause of justice and eventually faced off against Marvel Comics' main Spider-Man in the 2015 Spider-Verse crossover.
Energy Bill Responsibility: Uncle Bhim 9 out of 10.
Bagman is bombastic
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man (vol.1) #258
What is the problem? : did you laugh? Spiderman wears an alternate Fantastic Four uniform and a paper bag over his head and are you kidding me ? Believe it or not, this version of Spider-Man has a perfectly valid Marvel Comics lineage. In 1984, at the end of the famous Alien Suit saga, Peter Parker was horrified to learn that the black suit he was wearing was actually a symbiotic alien from another planet. This left him briefly without a costume to wear around town, but his nemesis Johnny "The Human Torch" Storm came to the rescue and gave Parker one of his spare suits, a paper lunch bag to wear on his face and a discreet "Kick Me". "sign. attached to the back. While he obviously only made one comic book appearance, this version of Spider-Man got his own action figure last year, which is more than can be said for most of us. .
Energy Liability Score: Uncle Ben 7 out of 10. Would be higher if he had shoes.
Spider-Man and Spider-Man from Insomniac
First Look: Marvel's Spider-Man (2018 Video Game)
What's the deal?: It's just Spider-Man wearing a fun skin from the 2018 PlayStation video game series. The game's version of Peter Parker and Miles Morales make their cinematic debut here, which is definitely a complete coincidence from Sony's games. film production.
Power Liability Score: 1-10 Uncle Ben out of 10 depending on the player.
Amazing spider monkey
First Appearance: The Spider-Man Family #1
What's the Deal?: Earth-8101 is an Earth inhabited by apes, not to be confused with the Earth of the 1970s Marvel adaptation of Planet of the Apes . Like his human counterpart in terms of strength, the Spider has a very different (and very annoying) personality, often killing his animal enemies in battle. However, after helping with the Multiverse Crisis, he heroically lost his life in the Spider-Verse crossover.
Energy Liability Score: Uncle Ben 5 out of 10. A nervous monkey, but a real spider comes out.
Lady Spider
First Appearance: Spider-Verse (vol.1) #1
What is the problem? : Maybelle Reilly is a resident of a 19th century steampunk universe where she is bitten by her father's experimental spider and gains extraordinary powers. After her father's death and learning the value of freedom and independence, May builds a mechanical arm (similar to our Spider-Man suit) and wages a multi-faceted battle with the other Spider-Men.
Energy Bill Responsibility: Uncle Ben is 6 out of 10.
Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man (vol.1) #149
What is the problem? : My son. OK let's go. In 1975, writer Gerry Conway and artist Ross Andrew created an extended storyline known as the original Clone Saga. Peter Parker finds himself cloned by the evil Jackal and is forced to face his twin, the sole survivor, in a fight to the death. The surviving Parker then throws the clone's body into the fireplace, but mostly refuses to verify that it is not a clone .
Twenty years later, after Marvel discovered his unfortunate twin was still alive, he dyed his hair blonde, called himself Ben Reilly, and fought crime as the Red Spider. This series of revelations begins the fateful second Clone Saga spanning several years, in which it is revealed that Ben was actually the real Peter Parker, then not, and eventually killed. Still. But you can't keep Spider-Man good or bad, so Ben was brought back to life in 2014 during the Clone Conspiracy storyline. since.
Energy Responsibility Score: 6 out of 10 Uncle Ben. Points for longevity, but Peter Parker is already depressed enough if you ask me.
spider girl
First look: What if...? (vol.2) #105
how the market is: Mayday "May" Parker is the Spider-Girl who was never meant to live. Created by writer Tom DeFalco and artist Ron Frenz, it was originally intended for "What if..." . A 1998 still depicting the teenage adventures of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. But that story was an unexpected hit, so DeFalco and Frenz were caught off guard by Marvel's desire to turn May into an ongoing series.
What followed was a seemingly endless series of cancellations and fan campaigns to keep Spider-Girl alive, culminating in a series of May Parker books that (supposedly) lasted until 2009. (always under the auspices of the original creative team) and she supports the love of her loyal fandom.
Energy Bill Responsibility: Uncle Ben is 8 out of 10.
spider cat
First Look: Spider Island: I Love New York City #1
What is the problem? : He's Spider-Man, and he's also a cat. The player's signature pet of Earth-999, Spider-Cat, got its powers from one of the mythical Spider-Totems in an untold story that is perhaps as believable as any story involving a mythical Spider-Totem. . totem. Donning the costume of his Earth-616 counterpart to fight the evil caused by small mammals and birds, he tragically lost his life at the hands of the vampire Morlu in 2014 while creating the Spider-Verse .
Power Responsibility Score: 10 Uncle Ben 10. Brave Cat. Brave and courageous cat.
Pter Ptarker/Spider-Rex
First Appearance: Edge of Spider-Verse (vol.2) #1
how the market is: Pter Ptarker, a mute T. rex from the prehistoric world Earth-66, encounters a spider-infested meteorite that gives him extraordinary spider-like powers. During the initial battle against his nemesis, the Norrannosaurman, Ptarker accidentally allows a tree branch to take the victim's life, teaching him an important lesson about responsibility. New to the comics canon, Ptarker survived a trip to our reality and a near-death encounter with our own Norman Osborn, and now continues to fight crime as the most muscular of the Spider-Men. .
Energy Bill Responsibility: Uncle Ben is 8 out of 10.
Pietro's car stopped
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 3) #12
What is the problem? : Who else but Dan Slott, the writer responsible for Spider-Man's anthropomorphic talking car Peter Parkedcar? First seen in the original Spider-Verse crossover in 2015, Spider-Man, the definitive car, actually comes from the Spider-Mobile, a custom car from a wacky toy company briefly driven by Peter Parker in the 1960s, 70s driven through the city. He later revealed in a tweet that Parkedcar wanted the talking car to be Pixar-sized and therefore capable of intelligent speech. Currently, the possible whereabouts of Mary Jane Datsun are still unknown.
Energy Responsibility Score: 8 out of 10 by Uncle Ben. Passengers in Peter Parked's vehicle are required to wear seat belts at all times.
Web Launcher (Cowboy Spider-Man)
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 3) #9
What is the problem? : After reintroducing Two-Gun Kid to Marvel in the pages of She-Hulk, it's no surprise that Dan Slott created this cowboy Spider-Man from the Wild West universe on Earth-31913. Although little is known about the Web-Slinger's mysterious origins, he is known to have a loyal friendship with Spider-Horse (real name unknown). Think of Spider-Horse as Peter's parked car from an earlier era (so to speak). The Web-Slinger has the longest appearance in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon as he teams up with Spider-Man to free the border city from the clutches of Doc Ock Holiday.
Energy Liability Score: Uncle Ben 6 out of 10. This horse looks suspicious.
The Amazing Spider-Man
First appearance: The Amazing Spider-Man (2008 animated series)
What's the deal?: Spider-Man has had many iterations of iconic animation, from the 1960s version with the earworm song to the memorable 1990s Fox Kids series. One of the most beloved and lamented recent outings was 2008's The Amazing Spider-Man , which returned the character to his roots as a high school student learning the ins and outs of superheroism while navigating the complexities of teenage life. Although initially controversial for its more stylized and less realistic characters, the series quickly gained fans for its ability to convey the essence of Steve Ditko's Spider-Man era to a modern audience. So Peter is of this reality, for all intents and purposes, what we know: crazy, funny, and still learning the difference between responsibility and power.
Electricity bill liability: 5 out of 10 Uncle Ben. We will talk about him when he turns 18.
spider man unlimited
First appearance: Spider-Man Unlimited (1999 animated series)
What are you doing? : from. In the late 1990s, after a long and successful run on Fox Kids, the network and producer Saban decided it was time to reboot the animated Spider-Man show as a faithful (and ideally low-budget) adaptation of the first Spider-Man. . . Unfortunately, Marvel ended up selling the rights to Spider-Man to Sony in a deal that would have seen Sam Raimi produce the film series, meaning anything Saban would have to cut entirely from the existing version of the Spider-mythos.
Thus was born a show revolving around Spider-Man's arrival on a techno-futuristic Counter-Earth, where he battled unrecognizable versions of the Werewolf, Green Goblin and other famous (and late 90s) names. After a mixed season, the series faded from the public consciousness, only to be revived this year to play on the big screen.
Spider Maguire and Spider Garfield
First appearances: Spider-Man (2002) and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
What's their business?: Spider-Man spent a full decade releasing Hollywood film rights before a minor miracle happened in 2002 when director Sam Raimi finally brought Tobey Maguire's character to the big screen. While Maguire himself was considered a surprising choice at the time, despite his deft dance moves in Spider-Man 3, he managed to impress audiences with his portrayal of the handsome and reserved young Peter Parker. Unfortunately, the same universal praise did not extend. to Maguire's heir. , Andrew Garfield, when Spider-Man was rebooted in 2012 as Parker, who was influenced by the Great Comics. However, the two actors returned to a warm fan reception in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home , where they pointed fingers at each other as the meme intended.
Power bill liability: Uncle Ben 9 out of 10 (Maguire). 2 of 10 Uncle Ben (Garfield).
spider grips
First appearance: Warehouse of Spiders #1
What is the problem? : Margo Kess is from Earth-22191, a semi-futuristic reality where Mark Zuckerberg's dreams come true and people spend their days in a metaverse-like virtual reality simulation. To that end, Margo dons a spider-themed dress and decides to fight cybercrime in her digital world.
Energy Liability Score: 2 out of 10 Uncle Ben Points for effort, but you can't help but think Spider-Man wants to issue a stern warning about downloading Napster. Its cinematic incarnation looks much more interesting.
Spider-man 1967
First appearance: Spider-Man (1967)
What's the deal?: When Spider-Man first appeared on television in animated form in 1967, it was a defining moment for the character. From Marvel Comics' second animated film adaptation to its first live-action animation, the series' memorable soundtrack and sometimes faithful rendering of Ditko-era concepts made it an instant icon for generations of moviegoers and contributed to Spider-Man. -Man. . Become Marvel's flagship hero.
The Spider-Man of the cartoon universe looks a lot like our own Peter Parker, who works for the ruthless J. Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle and fights colorful thieves, but wears his signature striped suit without a web (to save animation to spare) ) and in a baritone that speaks at least two octaves too low for his youthful appearance. He is known to stand in circles and point fingers at other Spider-Men.
Energy Bill Responsibility: Uncle Ben is 6 out of 10.
sun spider
First appearance: Spider-Verse (vol.3) #3
What is the problem? One of the more recent vintage Spider-Totem characters is Charlotte Webber, another Spider-Totem called upon to help with the multifaceted events of the Spider-Verse. However, he is notable for being a rare example of a disabled hero living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which causes him to use a wheelchair or even crutches as part of his costumed identity.
Energy Liability Score: Uncle Ben 9 out of 10. It's new, but it's got what it takes.
Filiera (in red and white dress)
First Look: The Amazing Spider-Man: Update Your Words #1
What's the deal?: The generation of fans that emerged when Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson married in the comics in 2015 has grown steadily and steadily since the two characters returned to bachelorhood a decade ago. So The Amazing Spider-Man: Update Your Words serves as a goodwill gesture of sorts, providing an alternate reality in which Peter and MJ, still married and accompanied by a superpowered child, raised a crime-fighting family adopted by Mary Jane . . responsibility. Personality in a supply chain. She appears in Across the Spider-Verse with her signature red hair and white dress.
Power Bill Liability: Aunt Anna Watsons 9 out of 10.
