Vivo X Fold 2 Is Official With Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 120W Charging & More
Vivo has announced its second-generation foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 2. While this is technically the company's third foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold+ is a mid-generation device.
However, Vivo X Fold 2 brings many improvements over its predecessor, one of the main ones being its weight. This thing is much lighter than the Vivo Xfold 2. This device weighs 311g and weighs 278g. It's still rugged, but keep in mind that this is a large foldable phone.
The Vivo X Fold 2 is now official and appears to be the company's "normal" flagship
Vivo Xfold 2 has been launched in China and we are not sure if it will be available in more markets. The device actually looks like the cousin of the company's recently announced flagship Vivo X90 series.
This is also a flagship phone, but it's a foldable one. We'll talk more about that shortly, let's go straight to the design. As can be seen in the images provided, this device has vegan leather on the back. It has a circular camera island on the back, with ZEISS optics on board. It is flat and the frame is made of metal.
Vivo X Fold 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SOC and also packs 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. So, Vivo didn't exactly cut corners here.
It has two 120Hz screens, each with a fingerprint scanner.
The main screen is 8.03 inches which is a Samsung E6 AMOLED QHD + (2160 x 1916) panel. This is an LTPO monitor and it offers up to 120Hz refresh rate. HDR10+ is supported, as is Dolby Vision, while the screen can reach a maximum brightness of 1,800 nits.
The second panel is a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2520 x 1080) unit. It's also a Samsung E6 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This panel has a peak brightness of 1600 nits.
120W wired charging is included, as is 50W wireless charging
It has a 4800 mAh battery. The device supports 120W wired charging as well as 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging is also part of the package.
Android 13 is preinstalled on the device, with OriginOS 3 arriving in China. If it launches globally, you'll find Vivo's Funtouch OS at the top. There are two fingerprint scanners built into the screen, one for each screen on the phone. By the way, this is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
The phone has two SIM card slots (2x nano-SIM) and supports 5G (SA / NSA) connectivity. Bluetooth 5.3 is also included in the package.
You'll find three immersive cameras on the back with ZEISS optics
The 50MP main camera (Sony IMX866 sensor, f/1.75 aperture, OIS, ZEISS T* coating, V2 chip) is assisted by a 12MP wide-angle camera (Sony IMX633 sensor, 108° field of view, f/2.0). hole) on the back. The third camera on the back is a 12MP vertical telephoto lens (f/1.98 aperture). A 16MP (f/2.45 aperture) selfie camera is embedded on both screens.
Vivo X Fold 2 measures 161.29 x 143.43 x 5.95mm when opened and 161.29 x 73.42 x 12.9mm when closed. Note that this applies to the black model, the red and blue models are slightly thicker at 13.2mm for a reason. Speaking of which, these are the three color options that this phone has. They are officially called Shadow Black, China Red, and Azure Blue.
The Vivo X Fold 2 models are priced at CNY 8,999 ($1,380) and CNY 9,999 ($1,455) in China. Both models include 12 GB of RAM, but they differ in storage volumes (256 GB and 512 GB).
