Vivo Is Bringing The X100 Pro And Its Massive Camera To Europe

Key points

  • Vivo is expanding the availability of the X100 and X100 Pro outside China, with the X100 targeting the South Asian market and the X100 Pro targeting Europe.
  • The distinguishing feature of this device is the large 1-inch camera sensor which offers better performance in low-light scenes.
  • They also have impressive specs, including a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip that rivals the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Vivo X100 and X100 Pro move from China to other regions. The two devices were initially launched on November 13, but only in Vivo's homeland. Now, the regular X100 is headed to several Asian markets, including India and India, The Verge reports. Meanwhile, the X100 Pro is making its way to Europe.

This migration means the X100 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Vivo X90, which saw a similar system when it launched earlier this year. At least for now, Vivo has no plans to release the phone in the US, although we expect that to change sooner or later.

A larger than life camera

The distinguishing feature of the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro is its one inch sensor. It's quite big in terms of smartphones and is one of the few devices that includes the Xiaomi phone and the Sony Xperia Pro I. In other words, you don't often see cameras that big on phones.

Such a large sensor has its advantages. In our review of the Vivo X90 which has a capable smartphone camera, we noted that the photos it produces are quite good. We expect similar, if not better, performance compared to the Vivo X100, and two things that smaller smartphone camera sensors struggle with.

Outside of the camera system, which differs little between the two, the X100 and X100 Pro are nearly identical devices. Here is a short, personalized list:

  • The chipset is MediaTek Dimension 9300
  • The RAM is 12GB/16GB
  • Memory : 256GB/512GB/1TB
  • Battery : 5,000 mAh (X100) / 5,400 mAh (X100 Pro)

Using the Dimensity 9300 chip is also an attractive option. MediaTek is known for its budget-oriented chips, but the Dimensity 9300 is surprisingly capable. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is artificially faster than the one used in a number of Android flagship phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and is expected to compete with next year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, meaning it is well ahead of next year's flagship phones. . we will be
