Polars Newest Smartwatch Could Be A Fitbit And Garmin Killer

The newest sports watch on the market, the Polar Vantage V3 is tailored to the needs of athletes and regular users. This new offering from Polar replaces the previous 2020 Polar Vantage V2 model.

The fitness tracker and watch market is very competitive in 2023, but based on everything Polar has shared about the Vantage V3, we can be looking at a solid alternative to Fitbit and Garmin. This is the packaging.

One of the most notable features of the Polar Vantage V3 is the advanced biosensor technology called Polar Elixir. The watch offers many of the same features as other smartwatches like the Apple Watch Series 9. It has a fourth-generation optical heart rate monitor for greater accuracy and a wrist-based EKG that measures your heart's electrical signals.

Other key features of the biosensor include an SpO2 monitor that measures blood oxygen levels using pulse oximetry technology. There are also nocturnal skin temperature monitors that measure body temperature at night. Thanks to these measurements, the watch provides additional information about sleep and well-being.

The Polar Vantage V3 also offers training, recovery and sleep tracking. These features include Polar's signature tools like Recovery Pro, Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages and more. Together, these features are designed to provide suggestions that help you monitor and improve your health and well-being over time. The Vantage V3 has over 150 built-in sports profiles, making it a versatile sports watch suitable for a wide range of activities.

To track your progress, the free Polar Flow app and website help you analyze different aspects of your physical activity, fitness and health, set goals and monitor your daily progress. According to Sander Vering, CEO of Polar: “Sporting progress is defined by goals; Set it, work on it, surpass it and set the next goal. This requires a great deal of personal knowledge that can only be gained through very precise measurements and data analysis of your performance. This knowledge, together with individual advice, is the key to progress.”

Many of the same features are available in other recently announced fitness watches, including the Fitbit Charge 6 and the Garmin Forerunner 265.

This watch is equipped with advanced technology that allows you to receive accurate location information even in difficult conditions, such as when you are near tall buildings or in bad weather. With Vantage V3 instruments, you can be sure you always know where you are, whatever the conditions.

The Polar Vantage V3 also features turn-by-turn directions from Komoot, providing turn-by-turn directions to your destination even in unfamiliar terrain. Vantage V3 can sync with a route planner to provide personalized turn-by-turn directions, making it easier for you to get to new places.

In addition to detailed route guidance, the Polar Vantage V3 also allows you to download topographic maps, which is especially useful for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, camping or mountain biking. With topographic maps, you always know the way and can safely explore new areas.

The Vantage V3 is also equipped with advanced internal components to meet the needs of every user. The watch has a long battery life, providing up to 53 hours of training or up to eight days of viewing on a single charge. The power saving mode can increase the training time between charges up to 140 hours. Other features include 32GB of storage (same as its predecessor), which you can use to store cards and other stuff, as well as USB-C charging.

According to the company, the Polar Vantage V3 smartwatch features a new design that combines sophistication with practicality. The 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen extends to the edges and offers a larger viewing area than its predecessor, while producing 462 pixels per inch for incredibly crisp and clear viewing. With an aluminum frame and durable keys, the Vantage V3 is built to last. Notably, the watch now supports standard 22mm straps, eliminating the need for adapters and allowing you to customize the style to your liking.

Starting today, October 11th, you can pre-order the Polar Vantage V3 at select retailers. The watch is available in three colors: Midnight Black, Sky Blue and Sunrise Apricot and costs $599. You can also purchase the Polar Vantage V3 and Polar H10 combo bundle with heart rate monitor for $649. Orders will begin shipping on October 25.
