It's easy to see why the Volkswagen Polo Vivo is so popular among the younger generation.
And I think, in descending order of importance, incredible road holding, great looks and relative affordability are the main reasons why this car is always at or very near the top of the South African sales charts.
To support this statement, my daughter and her boyfriend immediately requested a Polo Vivo 1.6 Highline with Black Style package, which arrived at my house to test for a few days at The Citizen Motoring. Why? Because he liked the way he looked.

Polo Vivo with that something extra
The Polo Vivo Highline with five-speed manual gearbox is priced at Rs 304,700. Easy driving fun
This shortcoming is almost forgiven thanks to the pleasant driving experience of the 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine. The easy-shifting five-speed manual gearbox has an output of 77 kW and 153 Nm of torque.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in 10.8 seconds and the maximum speed is 188 km/h. Actual fuel consumption is 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers. What more could a Generation Z child want?
While the Polo Vivo Black Style Pack isn't the cheapest compact sedan on the market or the most premium offering, it's a car that many young people would love to see. It will continue to top the sales charts.
