Rockstar Energys Founder Sells His $25 Million L.A. Estate To A Tech CEO
After more than three years off the market, energy drink magnate Russ Weiner has finally purchased his Beverly Park home, one of two luxury properties in the pricey, star-studded area. The 1.2-acre site sold for $25 million to local businessman Tony Safoyan, CEO of Google cloud consulting firm SADA Systems, and his longtime wife Lana.
The Tuscan-style country house, built in 1999 for a Russian businessman and designed by renowned architect Richard Landry, is set behind gates and tall hedges. With 10,575 square feet of main living space and a separate guest suite, this resort-style space offers plenty of space for large galas and events.
Weiner, 53, bought the house in 2015 for $18.6 million. Despite the short tenure, the largely unchanged property has been on the market since early 2020 with prices ranging from $35 million to $27.9 million. When Safwan finally called, the house was on the market for $30 million.
In addition to the eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, interior highlights include a grand foyer with two staircases, limestone floors, an exercise room with an adjacent sauna and massage room, a chef's kitchen with commercial-grade appliances, and a mahogany library with entry units. - Robust Upstairs, the tiny-house-sized main retreat includes a bathroom, double closet, private office, private balcony and a "hidden" spiral staircase, according to the listing.
Outside, the field consists of two large grass fields: one of astrograss and the other of real grass. The paths pass between boxwood, bougainvillea and olive trees. And outdoor entertaining is made easy with covered loggia dining and a poolside outdoor kitchen, outdoor fireplace, wet bar and barbecue area.
Safoyan (45 years old) created the SADA system in 2000. The North Hollywood tech company will top $1 billion in annual revenue for the first time by 2021. Last year, the company signed a $2.5 billion partnership with Google. Since 2015, Safoya has owned a two-story home in Sherman Oaks.
As for Weiner, he currently lives primarily in Florida, but still owns another residence in Beverly Park in Park City, Utah, which he has owned since 2007, as well as an investment property in the Hollywood Hills.
Known as the most expensive terraced community in Los Angeles, Beverly Park has several high-profile residents behind its heavily guarded gates. Despite dramatic changes in recent years, Hollywood figures such as Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington, Sofia Vergara, Adele, The Rock and Rod Stewart still call it home.
