This Affordable Android Phone Has A Killer Spec Sheet But You Can't Have It Yet

If you are looking for the best Android phone, you have many options. In recent years, the market has become increasingly competitive, with established names and new players offering devices with impressive specifications.

You can now add another device to this list. The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro was launched in China and packs a few specs to talk about.

It all starts strong from within. You'll find a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with 12GB to 24GB of RAM and 256GB to 1TB of storage, depending on the options you choose. You also get a 5,000mAh battery with an impressive 150W wired charging speed.

Up front, a 6.74-inch OLED display brings things to life. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 2772 x 1240.

The camera is also impressive. A tri-sensor array adorns the rear of the device with a 50MP main sensor - complete with optical image stabilization - paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. On the front is a 16-megapixel unit that handles selfies.

The price is perhaps the most impressive. At the moment, the device has only been launched in China, although there are rumors of a global release. Citing Chinese prices directly, the device costs around £320 for the base model and around £430 for the top-end model. It's firmly in best budget phone territory, with a spec that will blow others away in the category.

Sure, it's unlikely to cost that much when it comes out here, but it's a promising sign. There are discounts to get the device at this price. For example, there is no Gorilla Glass, an Asahi protective glass is used instead.

No mention of waterproofing either. I would expect it to be decent. We recently saw a feature called Rainwater Touch on the device which allows users to continue using their mobile even in heavy rain. This test blasted the phone with multiple sprays of water, which should be a good sign for the durability rating.
