The Redmi Pad SE Could Be The Perfect Back To School Tablet

The Redmi Pad SE Could Be The Perfect Back To School Tablet

Although the typical British weather may confuse you, we are actually in the middle of summer. Soon the kids will be back in school, the leaves will be brown and bubbly, curry and more. The rotation will be played from each radio station. It is certainly fast.

If you have teenagers heading back to school soon, a good tablet can be a really worthwhile investment. They're mobile, truly interactive, and portable enough to have all the power you need for work and play.

Now the good folks at Xiaomi have unveiled their latest tablet, and this might be the perfect choice for you! Released alongside the brand's cheaper counterpart, the Redmi Pad SE is an affordable option where it counts.

Up front, you get an 11-inch screen. It has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with 207 pixels per inch for high image quality. You get 400 nits of peak brightness and an adaptive refresh rate that ranges from 30-90Hz depending on the image you're viewing.

It is also doubly certified by TÜV Rheinland. One is for low blue light and the other is for flicker free certification. It's really shiny, a sign that means a safer browsing experience for users

Inside is a Snapdragon 680 processor paired with an 8,000mAh battery. Sure, these aren't the highest specs you'll find on the market, but they should suffice for day-to-day tasks. This battery is also rated for 14 hours of video use, so it should be good for a full day without breaking a sweat.

All this is enclosed in a single elegant and practical aluminum case. Users can opt for a fairly safe graphite gray or opt for something funkier with mint green and lavender purple.

There's also a set of four Dolby Atmos-certified speakers. It supports Hi-Res Audio which is great for receiving content.

You'll find a pair of cameras on board: an 8-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front. Again, these aren't the most capable sensors you'll find anywhere, but they should get the job done. In my experience, the tablet's rear camera is about as good as Spider-Man's scale, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

So how much will all this technology cost you? Well, not much. Prices start at £179 in the UK. That gets you a model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There are also 6GB and 8GB RAM options, while storage is expandable up to 1TB.

That's a lot of tablets for the money. It obviously won't replace the iPad Pro anytime soon, but it's also about a fifth of the price. If you're looking for something cheap and fun that easily handles everyday tasks, for a young user or for yourself, this should definitely be on your radar.
