Garmin's Best Smartwatch Could Get A Successor Soon Here's What To Expect

Garmin's flagship smartwatch could get a successor next month, according to a new leak that suggests the Venu 3 and 3S are on the way.

First released in September 2019, the Venu series has long been a must-watch for anyone looking for a watch that mixes serious fitness features with casual design. In our guide to the best Garmin watches, we call the Venu 2 "The Best Garmin Watch for Most People".

Well, according to some regulatory clues uncovered by smartwatch leaker @fttest_en (below) and Notebookcheck, several new successors to the Venu 3 series are on their way to IFA 2023 (which starts on September 1). .

The specs list above says nothing about the sports watch, other than the Venu 3S name (a smaller model that should appear alongside the standard Venu 3), some standard features (GPS and Wi-Fi) and a rose and gold dust finish. . The names at least suggest that the watch will be available in two sizes.

We don't have a release date for the Venu Series 3 yet, but page X (formerly Twitter) @fttest_en has suggested that the watch could launch at IFA 2023. This isn't specific as Garmin doesn't currently do so. It wasn't on the attendee list at the tech show, so maybe he's planning to show it off at a separate event.

In any case, those regulatory filings usually lead to an official launch within a few weeks, and the original Venu launched in September 2019, while the Garmin Venu Sq 2 (which has a square screen as opposed to the Venu's round screen) also arrived. At IFA 2022.

So, if you're looking for one of the best smartwatches with accurate GPS, advanced fitness tracking, and lots of health features, this is definitely the watch to watch in the coming weeks.

We've remained huge fans of the Venu 2 for its combination of robust workout tracking and an everyday design that doesn't scream: "I just left the gym." But it's also launching in April 2021, so it's based on our technology. From what I've seen of Garmin since then, there's definitely a lot of room for improvement.

So what can we expect from Venu 3? TechRadar fitness, health and wearables editor Matt Evans said: "The Venu 2 is outstanding because it strikes the perfect balance between high-end sportswear and an everyday smartwatch, perfect for the running enthusiast." tends to be sportier to really compete with Apple and Samsung in the lifestyle space, but the Venu 2 makes up for it with a high-res AMOLED screen and great delivery of everyday apps."

But there are a few extra features we're excited about. "Garmin's training benchmarks have gotten even more sophisticated since the introduction of Venu 2, so we expect Venu 3 to receive new widgets such as training readiness ratings, grade and endurance, and improved GPS: all while keeping the AMOLED display." The latest improvement is seen in the Garmin Epix Pro. I wish there were more third-party apps to make it a true competitor to the most popular lifestyle watches,” added Matt Evans.

Venu 2 starts at $399.99 / £349.99 / AU$629. So if that's out of your budget, stay tuned for the latest Venu 3 news on TechRadar.
