What Is Coachella?
Anyone reading this probably has an opinion based on what happened the other night. There were many first-person accounts on TikTok and Instagram, podcasts interviewing outcast skaters, popular media uploads and other artists.
A week before the game, Frank reportedly suffered an ankle injury. It is unclear what damage was caused by the decision to scrap the Ice Arena main stage (which would have been the main feature of the performance) and postpone the performance to Weekend 1, although it is unclear why Frank's band pulled out of Weekend 2. festival.
According to skaters recruited to help him succeed, Frank appeared to have contacted the festival late Sunday about his doubts, frustrations or disagreements with the festival and/or its production.
It was decided (or decided) to demolish the ice rink that had been built that day. Taking the extra time to break down (or maybe open) this song delayed the show, which started 45 minutes and an hour later at 10 p.m. Earlier in the afternoon, skaters performing in the show were warned that they would either be shot or asked to wear their special Prada uniforms instead of the performance they were preparing for. Then the show began, and for a moment all that was visible was a large video of the skaters going in opposite directions in a circle, gathered in the section of the stage closest to the crowd. Finally, the camera pans to the background, showing a large studio setup with drums, keyboards, several analog synthesizers, microphones, and studio gear, before we catch a glimpse of Frank in a giant blue jacket. .
"Novacan" opens, possibly his breakout hit from the original "Nostalgia, Ultra" mixtape. Now-deleted video of the entire show showed the crowd screaming and singing along, and Frank's performance of "Crack Rock" was similar. Both songs show the intent of the show: "Meet Her at Coachella" resonated strongly with "Novacan" for obvious reasons, but especially with "Crack Rock" for "Fuckin' Pig Shoot/Three Hundred People." "I am wanted / My brother will appear / And no one will hear his voice." Frank deliberately left out the third line so the crowd would let him sing.
The music is punctuated by long pauses as the stage prepares for what's to come, forcing people in the crowd to stay in the moment, which means hearing your thoughts: "What's next?" or "those friends". The silence should, in theory, let the people know what evidence they have for them, but this clearly did not happen for many - a hostile atmosphere reigned among the spectators on the shore. .
Frank performed a heavily reworked version of "White Ferrari" from "Blonde," gracefully singing harsh synth arpeggios a far cry from the studio version. At one point, he drops the mic, dances and sings to a hi-fi mix of "Channel" before switching to an unreleased remix of Sango mixed by DJ Crystalmus. He remembers seeing Ray Sremmurd at Coachella many years ago.
