A few days before Apple officially unveils Reality Pro, an Oppo MR headset was announced, but it will only be available in China and is aimed only at developers.

Featuring the latest technology inside and out, this state-of-the-art Mixed Reality (MR) headset offers advanced developers the perfect environment to create and deliver compelling MR experiences [...]
OPPO MR Glass is based on the Snapdragon® XR2+ platform and features OPPO's SUPERVOOC. The quick charge and heart rate monitoring feature opens the door to many new apps.
OPPO MR Glass binoculars are made of leather material and equipped with VPT (Video Pass Through) technology, dual front RGB cameras, pancake lenses and a high refresh rate of 120Hz.
Oppo is honest that no one yet knows how to make mixed reality (a combination of virtual reality and augmented reality) believable for consumers.
To drive innovation in RM apps, OPPO MR Glass Snapdragon Spaces will be available as an official developer kit in China to bring more developers into the field and push the boundaries of XR technology.
Oppo Air Glass, a long-term vision
CNBC reports that the company is being honest when it admits that its vision for Apple glasses, the Oppo Air Glass prototype shown last year, is not a consumer-ready product.
Xu admits that mixed reality has "many things that need to be improved to make it a real or successful product," including technology and apps. .
“Everyone wants to do AR because it has great potential, but since the technology isn't available yet, it could be in a few years,” Xu said.
However, the company also says Apple believes the future potential is huge. In 2019, Apple executives announced they expect the technology to replace cell phones.
Longer term, Apple expects this type of device to replace cellphones, and executives told the team it will happen "in about a decade."
Oppo shares this belief.
Oppo is excited about the future of mixed reality and sees it as the next computing platform after the smartphone.
"It has the potential to become a new computing platform," Xu Yi, director of XR technology at Oppo, told CNBC.
Apple will showcase Reality Pro during its WWDC keynote on Monday.
