Vivo recently emerged as the leading brand among BBK Electronics' subsidiaries in India, surpassing Oppo and OnePlus in market share. The company has carved a niche for itself with its eye-catching design and camera-focused features, allowing you to take great photos without spending a lot of money. Following the same mantra, Vivo has launched the Vivo T2 5G in the Rs 20,000 sub-category.
The phone is equipped with a 64-megapixel camera with support for optical image stabilization (OIS). I tested this and more in this review.

Vivo T2 5G is positioned as a thin and light phone, and you will immediately notice it. The phone weighs only 172 grams and has a thickness of 7.8 mm, which makes it very comfortable to handle. The haze support improves blending and visual appeal as the color shifts from blue/turquoise to orange depending on the light angle. The body of the phone is made of plastic, but it is nice and durable. The only downside is the "HD Photo" sticker on the camera module, which looks out of place.

The screen size of 6.38 inches is rather unusual, but one of the strengths of this phone is its good color reproduction and accurate saturation. It has slightly warmer colors, but you can customize them to your liking by going to Settings > Display & Brightness > Display Colors. 90Hz isn't as smooth as 120Hz, but it's easier to get used to.
Software and Performance
If you're on Android 11, what if you make big changes to it and give it a new name so it's better suited for 2023? This is basically what Funtouch OS 13 is about, but not in a bad way. The notification bar and the Settings app remind us of the old version of Android, but Vivo's tweaks and the addition of textures give it a new look. The only thing I miss is the app opening/closing animations that the SD695 handles so easily.
The phone comes with several Vivo and Google apps, but you can easily switch between them as you see fit. FuntouchOS 13 is pretty close to stock, so it's nice to be able to use Google Photos and Google Watch instead of Vivo's options.

Vivo T2 5G is equipped with Snapdragon 695 5G processor, and efficiency is more important than performance among budget and mid-range phones. The chip stays cool and delivers smooth performance with very few minor hiccups.
In terms of gaming, I never got to try the re-released BGMI, so I played Call of Mobile instead. The game ran smoothly on medium settings with no stutters or stutters. The best part is that the phone stays good, it delivers consistent performance.
Battery
The 4500 mAh battery lasts all day, giving you about 7 hours of screen time. It may be better, but you may need a more powerful battery. The 44W charger can fully charge the battery in one hour.
cameras
The Vivo T2 5G lacks the ultra-wide-angle camera, the 64MP main camera, and the 2MP depth sensor. I feel like this compromise may have allowed Vivo to use a better main sensor. It performs well in daylight, taking photos with accurate exposure and color. Vivo's software display is excellent, making scenes look natural. The zoom shows poor detail, but acceptable for the price range.

Night shooting also produces good results in the price range. I was able to capture some amazing photos of the buildings around my area with good lighting and contrast.

Switching to the selfie camera will automatically activate portrait mode. Portrait mode often doesn't work, so I often turn it off. Vivo's edge detection was pretty good, so I'm glad there's a photo mode. I especially like how the Vivo handles colors in all lighting conditions, though details could be a little better.

Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the camera. The only disappointment was the OIS, which didn't seem to be much better than the EIS.

Vivo T2 5G is nothing to hate. The Rs 18,999 price tag makes it a strong contender in this segment and a good option for those looking for a well-rounded smartphone. A great AMOLED screen and well-tuned cameras that deliver consistently good results in all lighting conditions are a joy to use. The software, although a bit bloated, will appeal to Android lovers. The only problem is the lack of a very wide-angle camera.
