Oppo Find N2 Flip: Oppos First Foldable Impresses With Smart Design
Oppo unveiled the foldable Find N2 Flip globally in February, the brand's first foray into a foldable smartphone. The device is available in Europe and Asia from March for 849 euros. The phone has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and comes in two colors – purple and black. Our team received the black model for review and tested it for two weeks.
The Find N2 Flip is a smaller flip than Oppo's first folding version. Find N2 is a larger standard foldable device that offers users double the screen real estate. The Find N2 Flip is well designed and will likely appeal to a younger customer base with its lightweight design, large secondary display, and pocket-sized size.
key specifications
Find N2 Flip is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processors and features a 6.8-inch main AMOLED display and a 3.26-inch external display. Flip phones tend to have small batteries due to their compact bodies and big hinges, but the Find N2 Flip manages to squeeze in a whopping 4300mAh battery. Additionally, the camera system includes a 50MP main camera with Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 32MP front camera.
Nice pocket external display
The Find N2 Flip is incredibly thin and light, weighing just 191g and measuring 7.45mm when folded. The size of the folded device is similar to a small makeup mirror: delicate and compact, easy to fit into a small pocket or purse. When held in the hand, Find N2 Flip offers a soft and natural feel.
At 3.26 inches, the Find N2 Flip's external display is the largest of any smartphone available today. While the device is lightweight and pocket-sized, the external screen is large enough to display meaningful information and also allows users to check notifications, listen to music, answer calls, and take photos. So you don't have to constantly open your phone. Find N2 Flip offers six widgets for the back screen, including weather, timer, audio recorder, camera, calendar and headphone control. While the display capabilities of the cover are currently limited, Oppo keeps promising to expand the options over time.
Opening the device feels a little awkward, the phone feels a bit long and doesn't slide easily, especially after a bit of indent on the external screen. The unfolded dimensions of the Find N2 Flip are 166.2mm x 75.2mm x 7.45mm, and the 6.8-inch AMOLED display inside has a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Besides the cuteness factor and obvious appeal to younger users, Find N2 Flip comes with five unique pet wallpapers. Users can select different animals to display on the external screen, cartoons show different animated situations depending on how the device is used. For example, when you hear a song, the animals in the background "listen along". Users can click on the screen to "interact" with the animal.
Oppo has opted for the new Flexion hinge, which offers better dust resistance, leaves less space when closing the device and makes creases almost invisible. Although we admit that we have only used the device for two weeks, we could see the internal screen bent from the front and the sides were barely visible in bright light. According to the company, lab tests have shown that even after 216,000 bends and folds, the crease is barely visible from most angles.
Long battery life and standard performance
When it comes to phone design, less space usually means less room for other components, like the battery. The improved and reduced hinge of the Find N2 Flip has made room for a high-capacity battery with fast charging. To further improve battery performance, Oppo is also collaborating with MediaTek to develop an optimized version of the Dimensity 9000+ chip. Along with a large battery capacity of 4300mAh, the 44W SUPERVOOC fast charge allows users to charge the battery from nearly empty to 50% in 23 minutes and 100% in 1 hour. Under normal conditions of use, with between four and five hours in front of the screen, we could easily keep pasta for a day and a half or two. However, the device does not support wireless charging.
The phone handles multitasking easily and runs multiple apps without stuttering. It's a shame that the Find N2 Flip is only available internationally in an 8GB RAM/256GB storage and storage configuration. In the Chinese market, the choice of mobile phones is more diverse with 12GB RAM or 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
Compatible with photos
The Oppo Find N2 Flip features a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 32MP front camera. The 50MP main camera performs well in daylight, producing detailed, clear and lifelike images. The Oppo-developed MariSilicon X imaging system offers better options for night photography.

The Find N2 Flip's folding capabilities also expand photographic functionality. Since the camera device can still be used when partially folded, the phone can be placed on a surface to record photos or videos without using a tripod. It can also be used as a video camera when opened up to 90º, thus providing a more stable shooting experience than a standard smartphone.
diploma
Although Find N2 Flip is Oppo's first foldable flip phone, it offers a mature product. The sleek design, compact body, weight, powerful camera performance, and large battery make the Find N2 Flip an impressive choice in the foldable category.
